Meisha Card, Founder, CEO & Director
Meisha Johnson is Founder, CEO and Director of Threshing Floor Academy of Arts and Sciences, Inc., an innovative children's art and music program servicing Fulton, DeKalb and Gwinnett counties. The Former Special Needs Kindergarten teacher and Family and Child Advocate founded the academy in 2008 with the mission of empowering families and children, equipping them with the skills and resources needed to effectively identify and pursue their God given purpose in life. Mrs. Johnson established the Threshing Floor Academy Arts in Schools Program™ and Threshing Floor Academy Authors in Schools Program™ out of her desire to assist schools serving children from low-income homes in addition to starting a school of her own. Over time Threshing Floor Academy will evolve into a full fledged school that will be family focused with a heavy emphasis on the arts, community service, purpose identification and pursuit.
Mrs. Johnson holds a B.A. In Psychology from the University of South Carolina and minored in Elementary Education. She has done graduate work in the area of School Psychology and has worked to advocate for the needs & rights of a number of families & children in both South Carolina and Georgia. Through participation in several research studies and service in the areas of public education, early-childhood education, family literacy, public relations and social service, Mrs. Johnson has developed a passion for families and children, particularly those who are under served. An artist in her own right, Mrs. Johnson is excited about the future of Threshing Floor Academy and is honored to be able to provide quality and innovative arts programming on a daily basis to families and children from all walks of life. She is also excited about expanding Threshing Floor Academy's current culinary arts program through launching Project Elevate™. She is currently working to secure funding to construct a state of the art elevated urban farm in a farm desert located in an historic area of Atlanta, GA. The farm will serve as an education and empowerment center for families and children, providing classes and outreach initiatives that focus on urban farming, wellness and sustainability.

“Artists & educators are cultivators of the heart & mind, possessing the ability to plant seeds of inspiration, affirmation, perseverance & conviction that will reap a harvest of purpose, triumph & destiny fulfilled in the hearts & minds of individuals young and old. It is my prayer that my work does just that.” -Meisha Card
