Chef Donovon D. Clayton, Co-Lead Chef
Chef Donovon is a graduate of Le Cordon Blue College of Atlanta and an active member of the American Culinary Federation. Known for his energetic delivery and ability to inspire others to pursue purpose through sharing his experience in culinary arts, Chef Donovon’s journey to the field of culinary arts is nothing short of inspirational. Born and raised in Columbus, Mississippi, Donovon was encouraged by his mother to study culinary arts after graduating from high school and entering into a long period of grief over the unexpected death of his father. Through his studies at Le Cordon Bleu, Donovon developed a love for food. After earning his degree, he held various positions in the culinary industry. His drive to succeed and impeccable work ethic led him to take on multiple positions and he soon found himself yearning to spend more time working with the youth. As fate would have it, Donovon was introduced to Meisha Card, founder of Threshing Floor Academy by a relative. After talking with him about his journey and goals as a chef, Meisha was moved to enlist him to share his inspirational story and passion for culinary arts with students through service as an Arts in Schools Culinary Arts Instructor for Threshing Floor Academy. Donovon quickly became a school favorite, captivating students and school staff alike with his inspirational story, energetic delivery and exemplar culinary technique.
